The stone flooring and elegant furnishings that lured 50 sumptuous brands to Scottsdale Fashion Square’s new luxury wing will soon take up residence in its south wing.
Macerich this week unveiled plans for the second phase of renovation at its popular Arizona center, which will include a luxe new arrival point with valet service, two-story storefronts, exterior-facing retail buildings, and a porte cochere leading guests to as many as five destination restaurants.
Future plans being considered for Fashion Square include the addition of mixed-use elements on a seven-acre parcel north of the mall incorporating high-end residential, Class A office, and hospitality uses.
“The tremendous success of our luxury wing demonstrates the strong appetite among retailers and shoppers for even more high-end experiences,” said Macerich CEO Tom O’Hern. “We see great opportunity to further extend our luxury presentation into the south wing in line with the outstanding demographics and growth in the Scottsdale-Phoenix market.”
In August, Hermés signed a lease for an 11,000-sq.-ft. space in Fashion Squares luxury wing, where it will join tenants that include Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Balenciaga, Christian Louboutin, Bulgari and Prada.
The 1.9 million-sq.-ft. Fashion Square holds more than 240 shops and restaurants, including Apple, Nobu, H&M, Kate Spade New York, Tesla, Ocean 44, Williams-Sonoma and Zara.
The center is the crown jewel of Macerich’s Arizona portfolio, in which 9 million sq. ft. of GLA are comprised in nine regional centers. Kierland Commons, Arrowhead Towne Center, and Chandler Fashion Center are among them.
