H&H Bagels is kicking off an aggressive expansion plan that will open stores beyond its New York City roots for the first time.
The 50-year old bagel chain announced it will open 25 new restaurants this year across the country. The newest locations, which will be a combination of company-owned and franchised stores, are planned for Florida, California, Washington, D.C., Virginia, Illinois and Connecticut. Additionally, H&H Bagels will open a company-owned store at the newly remodeled Penn Station in New York City later this year.
To kick things off, the first H&H Bagels franchise location will open in Boca Raton, Fl., by the third quarter of 2023.
Here is a breakdown of the new franchise locations:
Los Angeles, California (five stores)
Tampa, Florida (five stores)
Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia, Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Virginia (10 stores)
Boca Raton, Florida
The company-owned stores will be in:
West Palm Beach, Fl.
Penn Station, New York City
To support this expansion, H&H Bagels will also open a 20,000 sq.ft. bakery in the Woodside, Queens neighborhood of New York City. This new facility will create and distribute the brand’s bagels worldwide.
“We’re excited to bring our legendary New York City bagels to cities across the country as part of our expansion plan,” said Jay Rushin, CEO of H&H Bagels. “With each new company-owned and franchise location, we are looking forward to welcoming new customers to the H&H family, while working with like-minded entrepreneurs who are eager to bring an iconic brand and an authentic New York City bagel to cities all across the country.”
H&H Bagels, which was founded in New York City in 1972, currently operates five locations.
